Project 8:UTTERSPACE

UTTERSPACE

UTTER was founded by renowned Chinese fashion photographer Liu Zongyuan in Beijing as his personal studio and cross-disciplinary creative space. The brand name "UTTER" derives from the dual meaning of "voice"—visually represented by the soundwave graphic of the word "UTTER," transforming sound frequencies into dynamic waveforms. This symbolizes the collision between precision and chaos in visual creation, while spiritually it points to avant-garde expression that breaks conventional boundaries.

UTTER produces top-tier fashion editorials while also experimenting with materials such as magnetic powder and metal etching to explore the limits of visual boundaries. The space houses thousands of rare fashion and art books, creating a knowledge-rich environment that attracts like-minded individuals passionate about fashion, materials, and cross-disciplinary creativity. The design of the studio strips away unnecessary decor, featuring raw textures and an unfinished feel, transforming it into a continuously vibrating creative vessel, constantly sparking innovation and artistic exploration.
